"Woodstock is the great American orgy. This is who the Democratic Party has become. They have become the party of Woodstock. The prey upon our most basic primal lusts, and that’s sex. And the whole abortion culture, it’s not about life. It’s about sexual freedom. That’s what it’s about. Homosexuality. It’s about sexual freedom.
All of the things are about sexual freedom, and they hate to be called on them. They try to somehow or other tie this to the Founding Father’s vision of liberty, which is bizarre. It’s ridiculous."
The democrats are a massive homosexual orgy?
Interesting.

Does Santorum know that Woodstock is a town in New York state? It’s a pretty quiet town, actually, so this quote is just so funny. (via afunnyfeminist)
I’m pretty sure my sex life is way more exciting than Rick Santorum’s, and, sad to say, I am the biggest virgin who has ever virgined.

Because apparently just talking and educating people about sex, a natural biological function, is enough to send us all into some sex crazed, irresponsible fit of lust.
I follow and know a lot of different people who all experience and view sex in different ways. Some are virgins and some are not. Some are asexual and some are not. Some like kinky sex and some do not. Some like to have sex with multiple partners and some do not. But we all agree that education and honest dialogue about sex is a good thing. It means we can be more confident and knowledgeable about sex if and when we choose to have it. I do not see these people being tempted to the point that they can’t think rationally simply because we discuss sex.
I think this viewpoint says a lot about Frothy and his ilk. It shows a massive disconnect and it shows that if anyone is trying to control sexual behavior, it’s them. Not us.
This is some fear-mongering crap.

The obsession that Rick Santorum and others like him have with what other people do in the bedroom is weird.
Who spends this much time thinking about what others are doing when they bone? I mean, HONESTLY?
It creeps me out that if I ever met Rick Santorum he would probably be secretly wondering if I’ve had an abortion and what kind of dirty sex I have when not in public and then probably have to go religiously flog himself or something to cleanse his soul.
If you think about it, it’s actually kind of sad. I can’t really imagine any other reason why someone would obsess over everyone else’s sex lives to the point of needing to police them other than they have a shitty sex life and are jealous of everyone else. “You have a better sex life than me? WELL, the only way to fix this is to make it so EVERYONE had a bad sex life!!!!” If anything it just makes me feel bad for these dudes’ wives.
The only reason we see sex as something bad is because of people like Santorum who are unwaveringly sending out the message that it is a bad thing. Sex isn’t bad and it won’t corrupt people by simply hearing about it. We don’t even teach our children the names of their body parts because it might corrupt them. Instead we come up with fake words like, “privates”, “pee-pee”, etc. A child being told that they have a vagina will not immediately indoctrinate them into the cult of whores or whatever Santorum thinks we call the portion of women who get abortions. Your child knowing they have a penis and not a “doodle” will not make them a rapist (since rape is never about sex, like Santorum thinks it is) or corrupt them. Teaching teens about how to protect themselves when they have sex will not corrupt them since most of the time they are already having sex.
We need to turn the blinders off. We do not live in a world where people are only having sex for procreation and only in marriage. We live in a world where the majority of people are having premarital sex and want to protect themselves from STIs and pregnancy. Because simply having sex within marriage doesn’t protect you from all the bad things Santorum is trying to blame on sex. You can still be raped if you’re married, you can still get and STI if you are married, and you can still have an unwanted pregnancy if you are married. Putting a ring on your finger doesn’t change that and it never will.

The only time I spend thinking about what others do in their sex lives is when I’m hoping and working to ensure that they have the liberty to do whatever they want (safely, consensually…you know!). I can’t imagine what it’s like to actually believe that what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms/kitchens/parks/dungeons/clubs has any bearing on their morality or the decay of our social structure.
You have to have a pretty damn twisted view of sex to be so incredibly hyperbolic and disastrous about it. Even saying that makes me start wondering about Santorum’s sex life…and his poor wife….*shudder*. I need a stiff drink and some brain bleach. See what I mean? I’d be miserable, too, if I spent that much time obsessing over strangers’ sex lives.
