Looks Like.
I will be sending my payment for my birth control to the insurance companies. This is because I dont believe they should be forced to pay for my birth control! If you want to have sex deal with the prices and the consequences, stop being children and grow up. Also, the “affordable healthcare bill” will and does force insurance and medical prescriptions prices to skyrocket. Dont think so? Go in to a hospital and request and tylenol, $150 a pop. Why is this? All the affordable healthcare regulations and taxes on them force prices high to be able to operate within those regulations and taxes. Sounds appealing right? Didn’t think.
This is frankly beside the point, but it is just one SMALL thing in your life that will change because of the SCOTUS decision. If you have any questions on this decision, ask the french, Spanish, or Greeks… They all had these programs and guess what? They’re dying as counties. Sounds so pleasurable and great for people.
You know, you’re allowed to tell the pharmacy that you don’t have health insurance and pay the $75+ a month for your birth control. Or the $1200 it costs for an IUD implant. You can feel free to do that if you feel so sorry for the insurance companies.
The reason hospitals are so expensive? People who don’t have insurance still have to be treated at hospitals under the law. So everyone with insurance carries that burden - except now, everyone will have insurance and costs will go down. (That’s a Reagan-era law, btw.) Oh, and health insurance companies will actually have to spend 80% of your premiums on health care, or mail you the difference!
And just a note - Spain, France and Greece are not COUNTIES, they’re COUNTRIES, and there are plenty of countries that are doing just fine in terms of universal health care. Like, you know, LITERALLY ALL OF EUROPE AND THE REST OF NORTH AMERICA.
People should not have to choose between having safe sex and paying their electric bill (my electric bill is actually lower per month than the only pill that didn’t make me nauseous, and way less than an IUD), especially when they are already paying health insurance premiums. That’s like paying for renter’s insurance only to be told that you still have to pay to repair fire damage.
I JUST CANNOT EVEN WITH THIS MASSIVE LEVEL OF FAIL.
Feeling sorry for insurance companies is taking the “corporations are people” thing to a whole new level of ridiculousness.
