The Abortion Assistance Blog was created to be a resource for abortion funds and other practical support for people in need of an abortion. Legal barriers are not the only obstacles that stand in the way of accessing abortion. Some people don’t have the money. Some people have to travel hours to the nearest clinic, and many lose even more time because of state-mandated waiting periods.
Patients traveling to get an abortion may need help finding transportation and lodging in an unfamiliar city. This blog will be mostly submission-based, for those who are willing to provide a ride to and/or from the clinic, a place to stay, or help finding either. Other information, such as assistance finding a clinic, birth control, or child care, is always appreciated.
