Help?
Hey ladies, I have a request. I am working with a young girl who had an abortion after a sexual assault. She was recommended some bullshit book about abortion and had a really bad reaction last night, so I decided to investigate today. I looked through the book and it was really shame-based and awful. The thing she reacted so badly to was a poem supposedly written by a fetus before being aborted. I’m sure you can imagine what it was like.
Anyway we had a really good long talk about it, and took a little walk to a store where we played with puppies. In the course of our conversation I had the idea to recommend a different book to her, one about basically overcoming brainwashing about abortion. Learning to accept that the decision she made was the right one for her. Then I realized I don’t know any books like that. I’m sure they exist. Do any of you have any recommendations?
I’d recommend Linda Weber’s Life Choices: The Teachings of Abortion. Check it out yourself first, though - I don’t know her philosophy on life, so it may not match up.
